“…Ah, now I understand myself better. I honestly had no idea how much my past experiences were affecting my relationship with my partner.“
“We are happy to report that there has been a shift in the dynamic of our marriage. The awareness of how to separate the individual from their behaviour in a bid to tackle issues more effectively has been most helpful….”
“I do not get easily irritated with my spouse like previously. I understand where she’s coming from ( literally). I see that she is also making serious efforts to adjust to me because she now understands my motives…”
“As I mentioned during our virtual one-on-one worksheet review session with you, we should have signed up for this before we got married! Well, no regrets now….”
So today I decided to give you a sneak peek into my inbox to underscore the need to update one’s knowledge.📚
Being an unrepentant, avid learner myself, I make bold to say that the difference between where you are now and where you desire to be in your relationship with your spouse/ partner, is a little extra knowledge. You can take that to the bank!👍🏽
💡Everyone acts the way they do based on their level of knowledge per time.
💡It is impossible to do better than what you know.
The outcomes of your life are a direct product of the quality of decisions and choices you make daily. These are also a direct result of the quality of information available to you. Period.
💡You may be doing your best. Your spouse may also be doing all they know to do. But that is not enough to guarantee a hitch-free relationship, because all you know is not all that there is!
I am reminded of the many times my children tell me “Mummy, you never stop,” when they find out that I am attending another conference, paid course/training, etc all aimed at updating my knowledge bank and becoming a better person.
I challenge you to make this second half of the year the winning half for the most important relationship of your life; with your spouse or fiancé(e).
Irrespective of where you are in your journey, there is still so much more to learn that will translate to a better marital experience for you.
After almost 34 years of marriage, I can confidently say that there is no end to knowledge. Among other things, it expands your perspectives and eliminates needless stress from life.
At Before and Beyond, we are set for the second half of the year.
If you are not yet married, take advantage of our pre-marital sessions. If you are married, need I say more?
Hot Tip:
Your current knowledge is not the full picture! It is limited.
